Welcome to i-Technica.com. I'm Helen Triolo and i-Technica is my business, located in Rockville, Maryland. Since 1997, I've been providing web design, database programming and Flash development services for businesses, educational institutions and government organizations in the Washington DC / Baltimore area (and a few further abroad).
For the past six years, my passion has been Flash programming for online, CD, and desktop applications. At present, I'm an adjunct faculty member at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, where I teach Flash and Flash ActionScript programming. I developed an online textbook site, Flash-Creations.com to provide an always accessible resource for my students at the Corcoran, and for private students. The site is now visited by a couple thousand people daily from around the world, from people looking for basic information about Flash to seasoned programmers looking for information about integrating Flash and databases and educators interested in Flash for math and 3D applications.
Apart from teaching, my primary client currently is Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, for whom I've been developing online Flash video applications for the past year and a half. The applications are designed to run in different environments, and can either stream video from a Flash Communications Server, load video via progressive download from a Coldfusion-based web server, or run locally, from an XML data source and local video files. In support of local arts, I also produce video clips for the Musical Theater Center website and created a standalone player (requiring no external software or media player) for viewing the clips from CD or desktop. Other area clients whose sites I've designed include Spacesaver Systems, PMAS (property management software), Travel Horizons, Reed Electronics, and Haspel & McLeod. My local information site, RockvilleLiving.com includes a searchable MySQL database of Rockville businesses with Yahoo Maps AJAX API-based mapping, showing businesses by location, shopping center and type of business.
